[TR] What am I missing

i ground mine off.and then you have to fabricate a rear mounting bracket. just a bolt at the front wont hold.

It seems like others it is large and a tight fit but before tackling that I cannot for the life of me figure how the mounting is supposed to go.  If I try to line up the pulley it means I would have to grind off part of the housing ( see photo and marker line ).     What did others have to do that to get the GM alternator to fit?
