Not so sure.  I have heard, but not verified, that in GB a Billion is a Million Million which is why they refer to 10^9 as a Thousand Million.  Perhaps some of our British compatriots can confirm or deny this.

At least we finally agreed on how much is a billion.  That only took a century or two to settle.
