Hi Frank:
Nice to read part of your history. I sense we have a lot in common.
And although I don’t hold too much hockey interest I’ve been an avid skier from the second month of arrival in this Country. My ski mountain here being at Lake Louise where I’m a volunteer tour guide. Awesome job! After the winter I volunteer at an Historic Ranch south of Calgary and drive my TR8 as a member of our local Sports Car Clubs. Plus all year round with my hiking Pal do a lot of hiking/walking in the near by Foothills and Mountains and Calgary Parks.
Cheers
Mike

Mike
one thing i do notice.
like you i emigrated to Winnipeg as a young man before finding my way to USA.
seems the Canadian rubbed off on me. a lot. especially ice hockey.
what i love seeing is the staff on the bench all wearing their poppies. always.

and to those of you reading this, who are in any way military.

thank you

I agree, the Poppies from England are superb. I watch BBC and CBC regularly (they seem least impartial of the press; the remainder of whom are not appealing in their reporting in my opinion!) and observe them as displayed on the lapel's of their staff’s clothing; but never thought of acquiring a few. Good for you! I left England for Canada aged 18, and stayed. But will always hold a very strong attachment to my Country of Birth even though I’m Canadian now in this fantastic Country of ours. So, I’m going to ask my fine, fine Brother-In-Law in England to please acquire a few of the English poppies for me – for which I’ll reimburse: he, a proud Cosworth engined Morgan owner.
Cheers
Mike Coe – Calgary
