That has been my experience.  In an ideal world one strip would be pop-riveted to the floor and the other part would be stitched to the carpet.

But my experience is that the regular snaps work well enough.

Thank you, Tim.  Geo makes the point that he wonders if the adhesive holding the strip to the floor may be weaker than the actual Velcro lock itself.
