[TR] Torque Wrench Opinions?

I have been using a no-name ½” torque wrench for the last 35 years. It
is starting to make grinding noises when you try to set the torque settings

I have been looking to get a good torque wrench for the engine I am about to
start assembling for my Morgan +4. Anybody have some advice or experience? I
was looking on Ebay and they have new Sears Craftsman “micro-clicker” torque
wrenches for about $100. They have Tekton brand ones for about half that.
They have Harbor Freight brand ones (Central and Pittsburgh) for under $30.
There are some Duralast wrenches (Autozone brand
) for about $30. They have
used Snap-On and Proto wrenches between $100 and $200. Not sure I would
trust a used torque wrench. I like both Proto and Snap-On tools, although I
can’t really afford new ones.

Anyone have any advice or recent experience on torque wrenches?

     TIA,

     -Bill Brewer
