If you are using a reputable carrier, he should be able to handle, and explain, it all.   If you are doing it yourself contact US Customs to get the forms, not sure if it is still correct but last time I checked there was a 2.5% tax to bring it in.   Be sure in advance that all his papers match the numbers on the car.
