[TR] Gimme Shelter

I would really think twice about storing on anything but concrete/blacktop. You’re going to get a lot of condensation even in a barn that will rot you interior faster than you can imagine. Like other have stated, snow will be a real issue in any fabric structure. I just retrieved a camper from a barn with a dirt floor and found that in just a few months down here in Florida I now have a LOT of mold inside. Almost ruined the old airstream. Alternatively, I left a AH 3000 in a cement floor building for 3 years while in Guam many years ago. Had it on blocks, drained all fuel etc. Came back, filled the fuel tank, put a battery in and topped off the tires and drove off.

I sold a used windshield to a fellow CTR member who had a “tent” collapse a number of years ago after some good, heavy snow here in Connecticut. I seem to think there was a second collapse several years after that. And we all know that you never get any snow in Maine! Also, be aware that there will be plenty of moisture working its way up from the ground and into the tent. You may want to consider laying down a moisture barrier first. Tek Supply is another outfit that sells a variety of tents and fabric buildings, many of them intended to be used as horse and cow barns. They may have something sufficiently strong. www.TekSupply.com Buyer Beware!

Hey all ~

I need to get my TR6 out of the garage so I can have some room to
work, this winter, on my '59 TR3A.

Anyone had success with outdoor a "portable garage" like those made
by ShelterLogic or other brands? Any insights would be great to have.

I plan to set it up on grass, not on pavement.

Thanks!!
