I have a 2006 Honda accord; the (new) clutch in that is the lightest I have
ever used; lighter than the original clutch
my daughter's 350Z has a very heavy clutch
the TR6 has a heavy clutch, probably not as heavy as the z
the 67 datsun 1600 has a very light clutch
the tr4 (which is now apart) clutch is about in the middle of the above cars

I have a 4A clutch in my TR3, and it is slightly heavier than my last
American car with a clutch, but not by much. I'd say maybe
20% heavier than an old Miata, and comparable to a 2005 Lotus Elise.
(However, the US version of the Elise has a different engine,
and I don't know if the clutch is the same as the UK version or not.)

However, it seems there is a great deal of variation and some are _very_
heavy. The 4A used the same B&B clutch as early TR6 (which
seems to be more or less interchangeable with the later Laycock/Luk), and
here are some interesting articles on the subject of force
required with replacement parts. Almost a 2:1 variation! And the author
stated that the lightest combination was too light for his
taste!Unsubscribe/Manage:
