Note that the UHMW that TeriAnn is talking about is quite a bit different than ordinary "polyethylene".

I've been using it too, but it doesn't seem to stay in place very well for me.  Perhaps I need to pay more attention to surface preparation before installing it; or perhaps I need a better adhesive.  3M seems to offer 3 different adhesives, with a 3:1 range in holding power.

Oddly enough, MMC no longer carries it, so I couldn't look up the stuff I got before.
