Best to take them a sample of the inner as well, though.  Triumph used a slightly larger size than many.  I found out the hard way,
when I tried to use a "universal replacement".

As noted, the gearing remained the same, so either tach should read correctly (within the accuracy of a 50 year old instrument
anyway).
