[TR] stumped!

Thank you Pete, Bill. Bud, Chris, Tony, Jonas and Randall ! Update:
- engine built with Glenn Franco (contributor to the list) and I'm pretty
sure we got it right
- good valve gap, pretty sure timing is right, great spark all plugs
- took the distributor cap from my TR3B (running fine) and am using it on the
car
- plenty of gas coming out the (new) gas line when engine is turned over
- SU carbs: pulling out the choke causes the car to flood, but plugs 1 and 2
still looked dry
- cleaned float chambers out completely, float valve clean and clear

SO....pulled the manifold and realized it had not been seated right (thank
you, Jonas) - which is amazing as all looked good when I installed it.

Put it back, turned the key, pressed the starter and she fired right up - on
all 4 cylinders. Thanks again!

Also re-recheck the firing order. Normally the #2 lead won't reach the #1
plug, but since it's a freshly built engine ...

While you're at it, just for luck, swap the #1 and #2 plugs with the #3 and
#4. Sometimes new plugs are no good, and sometimes even brand new plugs can
get glazed.

If still no joy, check the resistance of the plug leads. An old "known good"
set of wires & cap would be a good thing to try, if you have them. Again, new
components aren't always good components.
