Remind me why it 'quit' before.

The most common problem is possibly a seized speedometer which then breaks
the cable or (worse luck) the angle drive.  If that happens it probably
isn't enough to simply free up the speedo works and install a new cable --
you will want to figure out why it seized in the first place.
