Just don't do that!

Have you checked compression, set the valves, etc.?  By trying to rev to red
line on only one carb, you are basically testing how strong those two
cylinders are compared to the other two.

I was taught that it was a Bad Thing to rev an engine that high without a
load on it.  Since it proves very little (I'm much more interested in how it
runs under load), I've never found any good reason to do so.
