Like the others, you need to sign up and give them some basic information
(but most of it can be fake, if you wish).  They of course get their income
by selling advertisements, so you will see some ads, but it's a reasonably
low price to pay, IMO.

Once you've signed up, uploading photos is reasonably painless.  They will
automagically resize them (if necessary).
