Through the miracle of technology, I have solved the "mystery car" 
question. While watching a program on DVR and fast forwarding through 
commercials I caught a glimpse.  Pause, back step by step ... very 
definitely an Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite. No Triumph, just a cousin.
