As Tim pointed out, a loonie is a Canadian one dollar coin, with a picture of
the queen on one side and a picture of a loon on the reverse. A toonie is the
two dollar coin showing the queen with a bare behind (appologies to all
royalists - for those that haven't seen a toonie, the reverse picture is of a
polar bear - and spelling never was my long suit).
