Thanks to everyone who replied. The problem with the engine running lean was solved by tightening the manifold clamps - must have been a small air leak. Took the car for its maiden drive today. I didn't realize how many more things there were to do. As Jim Hassall has at the end of his email , "98.9% finished, 90% to go" !! Andrew Uprichard
