[TR] driving light question

It is possible that the threads are BSP (British Standard Pipe) for 
non-pressure-tight joints.  A 3/8" BSP thread is a scootch over 5/8" OD 
(0.656" to be precise) and has a Whitworth thread form, with 19 threads per 
inch.
