You might want to talk to Ted Schmaucher
http://www.tsimportedautomotive.com/ When I ordered my starter from him, the
first thing he asked was if I had headers as there can be a fit problem.
Once you figure out the fit, I came up with a pretty easy way to install the
starter while keeping your sanity http://tr6.danielsonfamily.org/Starter.htm
It involves forceps, a magnet and a cool wrench.

Subject: [TR] New starter
I am trying to fit the reduction gear starter I got from TRF to my 71 TR6
with a free flow header and a dual falcon exhaust.
I am having problems with it hitting the free flow header where the
intermediate pipes connect to the header. It seems like the new starter is
shorter but a little bigger around than the stock one.
Has anyone else run into this problem ?
Roger
