That is exactly what I did, Mike.  In fact, I did it a second time just a
few months ago, for my 'project' TR3.

The adjustment becomes rather critical with the fuel line, only a fraction
of a turn between so tight you can't move the valve, and loose enough to
leak.  But once adjusted, it worked for me for many years.
