[TR] grease fittings at cap ends?

You might be close to correct on that.  IIRC, the earliest TR2s shared 
front hubs with the Mayflower, and that hub had a small Zerk (but not 
on the bearing cap; just next to it, though) fitting just for such a 
purpose.
