Who said they were for racing only ?  Lots of folks around here run
Panasports on the street, and they seem happy with them.

Typically, alloy wheels will break rather than bend when stressed beyond
their limits.  But a pot hole big enough to bend/break the rim is going to
ruin the tire anyway, so this doesn't seem like much of a disadvantage.
