[TR] TR3 Engine number

Mike,
This is probably a 1958, my engine is TS 31314 E. My Commission number is TS
30766 L and the car was built on May 3, 1958.

Engine numbers run ahead of commission numbers as engines were pulled for
other non-Triumph uses.  So as close as your engine is to mine it would be a
pretty safe bet that is belongs to a car built in Spring of 1958.  You could
probably get the information confirmed by the British Motor Industry
Heritage Trust although I think they prefer to search by commission number.
