as your welder has given up on you, I have a use for your left over  
steel-mix inert gas.
after each time you have used your can of POR put the lid on close and  stick 
the nozzle of your welder in the can. make sure the welder is in the off  
position. then dispense a small amount of the gas into the can. enough to  
displace the air. your POR will not skin over for the next time you use it. at  
least mine don't.
