[TR] TR4A intake manifold trivia question

Does anyone know what the little hanging part, with a hole, just  
below where the front carb mounts is for?  You can see it here, the  
right most manifold, just above the "13":

I'm curious because I just got my new weber manifolds, and they have  
the same little bracket (though not tapped like the original).
