I sell a manifold gasket set that solves the problems. It is 
compacted graphite, 1/8" thick, compresses to half the thickness, 
good for over 2000 deg F, intake port holes the right size as opposed 
to oversize holes in the ones in the kits.

Kinda pricey at $67 including shipping, but they solve the problem.
