(Actually I disassembled more, because that little circlip on the vacuum advance arm dropped down under the base plate) Supporting the points plate on my bench vice, the screw in the gap between the jaws, I whacked it with my impact tool, the old style one that you hit with a hammer. It came right out. <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:16pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif">When you remove the points plate, be sure to take a close look at the insulating paper where the electrical connection stud goes through the housing. I had a distributor on my
machine once and saw flashover where the stud exited the casting. That is something you would never be able to see when installed in any car. You can look on line and get “fish paper” or its equivalent to make a new one if you want to be safe.<u></u><u></u></span></p>

anyway, so no rust. Anybody have any ideas, short of total disassembly? <u></u><u></u></span></p>
