I have used foam tape to attach badges on newer cars, works well.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>You need to decide your best option – modify so the clips work or use foam tape.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I believe RTV is too messy and not reliable enough. You need to completely cover the surfaces, that way RTV creates a vacuum on the badge after hold the badge firmly in place until the silicone volcanizes. The problem I see with this is vibration will loosen the silicon eventually and we have plenty of vibrations. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The foam tape has some compliance to vibration. You just need to get both surfaces clean for the tape to stick well.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>As with all the badges and emblems on the Sunbeam, you need to check them. I nearly lost the 2 rear fender badges because the stud started to give way. I can see no way to attach it by using the stock clips without first modifying the sides of the badge to accept the clips.
