A 16 tooth replacing a 15 tooth one will turn about 6% slower. But most of us are running slightly larger tires anyway so, yeah, probably close enough. When I put in a 3.54:1 rear gear with posi, I got the correct one for that gear ratio but was smart enough to keep my 15T one, lol.
