However, I did measure the opening. The slightly rounded corners make an
accurate measurement difficult but I get roughly 13-1/2” across and 7-1/4” to
7-3/8” front to back. Interesting that you say the corners are squared off. Mine
have a subtle rounding with a small radius of about 1/2”. Also notice the
downward taper on the front/back edges and the slight curve on the left/right
sides. The fuel pump access on the Tiger was actually the battery box area on
the Alpine. On a Tiger there should be spot-welds across the front seam of the
opening but I believe there shouldn’t be any around the rest of the perimeter as
the box was never installed on Tigers.</DIV>

<DIV dir=ltr>I keep finding weird stuff as I slowly get my Tiger put
together. Today I attached the fuel pump access door to the body and I
discovered that it doesn't completely cover the hole in the body. One
corner of the hole is exposed. The access door has angled off corners and
the hole in the body has squared off corners and one of these squared off
corners is exposed. Is this common? Were these openings in the body
cut by hand?
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Now I have to come up with something to cover this slight gap.</DIV>
