Old CAT alternator bracket - one piece - they sell a kit now. Bill Martin makes a real nice MK II reproduction bracket but pretty pricey. Also: The original MK II bracket can be hard
to find - Casting #<br id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_55917">C5JZ-10151-B<br id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_55918"><br id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_55919">CAT sometimes lists a
bracket, Reisentz Restoration has an original style<br id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_55920">bracket and a
wire conversion kit.</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_50943">2. Here is the alternator I used - a 100 AMP USA made 1 wire alternator but did not like their pulley and fan but they make a nice black one that is period correct.</div><img class="ymail-preserve-class inline-image-guid-67edf04b-13ce-8bce-beaa-590f2c267b4f rte-inline-saved-image" src="cid:22c7462a-b4b6-ac13-df00-ee982dfd12b3@yahoo.com" data-id="inline-image-guid-67edf04b-13ce-8bce-beaa-590f2c267b4f" alt="Inline image" style="width:100%;max-width:589px;max-height:338px;" id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_51134"><br><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_66988">3. I also bought a nice Jager faced volt meter gauge from Jim <a rel="nofollow" shape="rect" target="_blank" href="mailto:jim@island.net" id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_65634">jim@island.net <font id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_67109" color="#000000">that matches existing guages nicely</font> for around $105<br></a></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_66989">4. Ron Fraziers write up on TE/TA covers the dummy up of the voltage regulator and wiring up<br><a rel="nofollow" shape="rect" target="_blank" href="mailto:jim@island.net" id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_65634"></a></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1528020172538_50572" dir="ltr"><span>the dummy light pretty well.</span></div><div dir="ltr"><span>5. A new fan belt will be needed. Ok, the light won't work any more, hence the <br>recommendation of a voltmeter.<br>And a fuseable link or fuse in-line perhaps.<br>It automatically starts (at just a little over idle speed) and regulates.<br>If you look at most new hot rods or old competition rally cars or <br>tractors, it is what everybody uses.<br>I and most use a GM style case.
