<br>
Grade "8" fasteners must have yield strength of 120,000 PSI and a
tensile strength of 150,000 PSI.<br>
Grade "5" fasteners are 90,000/120,000.<br>
<br>
There are two places I use to purchase quality stainless steel
fasteners.<br>
<br>
The first is: <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.arp-bolts.com">http://www.arp-bolts.com</a><br>
<br>
ARP manufactures very high quality made in the USA fasteners (both
chrome-moly and stainless steel). Their high strength "Stainless
300" has a yield strength of 140,000 psi and a tensile strength of
170,000-190,000 PSI. Their catalog contains a very good primer on
fastener material specifications. They sell fasteners in "bulk"
packages as well as for specific applications, and you can find
their products on popular web sites such as
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://summitracing.com">http://summitracing.com</a> or <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://jegs.com">http://jegs.com</a><br>
<br>
If you do not find what you are looking for there, as someone else
mentioned, try: <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://www.totallystainless.com">http://www.totallystainless.com</a><br>
<br>
Totally Stainless sources much of their product from ARP (made in
the USA) and provide stainless fasteners that are "grade 8" or
better (17-4 PH stainless has 110,000 PSI yield and 140,000 PSI
tensile strength) in sizes and thread pitches that ARP does not
sell directly.<br>
<br>
I have used products from both sources for many years and have
never had a fastener failure. In fact I just purchased a set of
high strength stainless steel u-bolts from Totally Stainless for
my 1967 Tiger. They are awesome.<br>
<br>
Good luck,<br>
