<DIV>The elevated bolt hole bosses point towards the rear of the car. So the
image that shows the slave cylinder on the bracket is correct. If they have it
reversed it is hard to tell if the slight angling would compensate for the
raised bosses moving the cylinder further away. If not the piston could be
coming out of the housing and leaking because with the reversed bracket the rod
potentially is too short.</DIV>

<DIV>There are only a few places that can leak. The seal on the slave piston,
the connection tube/fitting that supplies the fluid or the bleeder
fitting. My car shows a brass fitting about 3” up the supply tube. I’m not
sure if that is factory, or a repair. It could be a leak on the master and
it is dripping down to the slave giving the appearance that it is leaking.
Lastly if the adjustment rod is too short (often done for removal on a clutch
job) you could be pushing the piston/seal out of the housing causing the leak
because it is too short. <FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">The question is,
was it a problem before? If not it likely is something they have done, or
the components used. My guess is a seal leak associated with a reversed
bracket or a too short adjusted rod.</FONT></DIV>

<P>Hello Everyone</P>

<P>I am looking for a little info on mounting the clutch 'slave' bracket
cylinder combo on a stockish 1965 Sunbeam Tiger, with what I believe is the OEM
configuration. </P>
<P> </P>
<P>I am having the clutch replaced by a fairly reliable shop but the job has
been spread out over several weeks. The end is near, with refit of the
clutch slave it was determined to be leaking, a new slave cyl was delivered from
SS and it is also leaking, leading me to believe there may be a configuration
issue.</P>
<P> </P>
<P>I would like to provide the shop with some drawings/photos of a stock set up.
I've attached some jpg of what I have so far, and would appreciate any feedback
on which direction the 'slave mounting bracket' should be facing. Which
would hopefully reduce any extra con$sternation on the part of the mechanic.</P>
