I’d assume the T-10 equipped cars came with the wide ratio 2.54 1st gear?
If so I’d be curious as to how they perform compared to the Toploader 2.32 close
ratio. It seems the Super T-10 was available in later years with a 2.63
and 2.88 1st gear ratios. I’d also be curious why the T-10 is not
generally considered a replacement for the close ratio Toploader,
especially the 2.88 version? Where there significant alterations for the
bellhousing, clutch, shifter, crossmember/mount and driveshaft? I realize
the desire for a 5 speed overdrive but unless you get the Motorsports T-5 with
the 2.95 1st, your getting the 3.35 version. I once drove a 5.0 Mustang
with that trans and it seemed rather Granny Gear.

As to the car itself. It stated it was media blasted and then epoxy primed.
I’d be suspect though because it looks like the tanks were never removed, just
sprayed over. With my car I found a whole family of rats “Decon-ed” down
under the tanks. And then there is all the rot on the hood perimeter of the
unibody. I had a Tiger with extensive rust, but not there. So, again
I’d advise a through check if anyone has interest.

From my Tiger Engine Study point of view I was thinking that
the T-10 transmissions ended within the E7KL engine group. This seemed
logical to me since the T15KL and E7KL engine groups account for about 60
engines.

Transmissions were sent to England separately and attached there and to me this
indicates the transmissions were installed in a random fashion. This
would make for more compact shipping containers for both the engines and

details about the shipping containers that Ford and the Cleveland Foundry used
to ship parts to England.

account falls a bit wide of the facts. It appears B9470057 LRXFE is the

the Borg Warner equipped cars had gearbox details chronicled in the ledgers, so
until these machines get inspected first hand, it's all smoke and

en-us

Very interesting, Steve!! According to the Bill Carroll
book, B9470057 was the first car off the production line with the Ford
Toploader transmission, with the previous cars having B-W T-10s. What is
most interesting to me about this listing, however, is that my first Tiger,
purchased back in October of 1979 in the Oklahoma City area, was a sister car
to this one, B9470058. I always wondered where the #57 car was, or if it
was even still around. That question has now been
answered.

Thanks,
Andy Walker
Edmond,
