      <DIV>Yep, they rot away. Cheap to replace....housing, gasket and gasket 
      cement. Might consider changing the thermostat while you're at it.  
      Should be less than $10 and might save you from having to change it a year 
      or two when it fails. (I think the gasket normally comes included with the 
      housing).</DIV>
