The coil and ballast resistor were still the originals, and I'd been thinking about renewing them anyway. So they went on the list, to eliminate a couple more possible electrical causes. I replaced the ballast resistor a few months back, but its winter here now, so not many miles here since. I'll probably do a new set of points and condenser too, though they seemed ok when checked. No, I'm not thinking or going the Pertronix route at this time.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">Thanks again, guys</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">Stu</div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Sat, Feb 27, 2016 at 12:03 PM, James Lindner <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:jliny5@cox.net" target="_blank">jliny5@cox.net</a>></span> wrote:<br><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">

the vendor stating if the product matched OEM specs. I know for a long while NPD

with an original equivalent piece. It's a Mk1A, all stock ignition
system. It appears that most of the old Mustang suppliers have numerous
versions of what appears to be the original type coil. Does anyone have
any info of what's good or bad among these?</div>
