<div style="font-family:arial;color:black;font-size:10pt;"><span style="display:inline-block" contenteditable="false"></span></div>
<div> Ron hit on the key: heat. I believe the temp range of the pad has to be matched to the use. It isn't just about having "ceiling" for track or other severe use to avoid all the bad stuff that happens to pads once they get past their temp limits, it is also about having the temp range right to affect proper pad transfer. A race pad, like the DTC-30 or Polymatrix, will typically not see enough heat in the type of use you've described to get the pad to that happy place (particularly on our light cars, more so with a bigger brake like the Wilwood). The result is lots of noise, shuddering and accelerated rotor wear. Race pads also tend to dust badly, if that is a consideration (Hawk in particular, across most of their compounds). Contrary to what some manufacturers want to suggest, you really can't have good street performance in a true race pad. If doing track events or other more severe use is in your plans, I'd suggest having two sets of rotors/pads to swap out before those events. That's what many of us who have run dual purpose cars have felt to be the best solution.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Typically, a high performance street pad, like the HPS Ron described is going to work best (I run the same pad on my car...don't recommend the HP+ as it doesn't really give much more ceiling, squeals until warm and dusts like crazy). Key is having good cold bite, not requiring a lot of heat to start working as designed and still providing some overhead temp range, which is code for "high performance street". I'm a big fan of Carbotech (AX-6 is probably right, maybe 1521) and Ferodo also has a compound (DS2500) that should be good on our cars. Good news is the Wilwood caliper is supported by a bunch of pad manufacturers, although I'm not certain of availability of the pads I've mentioned. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Autocross specific, most times cold bite and pedal feel is more important than heat range (I won an SCCA national championship using stock pads in 2014). I really like the HPS for autocrossing the Tiger :)</div>
