car came to me with a 289, and the dipstick/tube combination are considerably
different from the dimensions you have for the 260. I have felt for a long

But taking the corresponding dimensions from the tube stop/seating ring, the
"full" mark is out on my stick by roughly 1/2" ý( the oil level is 1/2" more

will measure the stick and tube against David’s spec. The tube and stick
were obtained from SS as “dipstick for generator cars” (TM50/TM54),
but no other part number given.
