weight in the trunk will push the wood down to the rim or the rubber whichever

really should have a spare tire that has similar circumference as your 4 main
tires. If you put a different circumference tire on the rear the
differential will be working harder to compensate. You can wear
the differential out very fast. Putting different size tire on the front

running across the top of the boot covered by the vinyl top "cover" so I can't
really see it. Anyhow the balance hose ran through that channel on my Mark 2,
but I can't say for certain that was the original location; I bought the car
in 1976. I don't recall the hose being secured.</DIV>
