<DIV dir=ltr>I always laugh at the guys with more modern cars, stock with
massive power already (relative to our cars), who "chip" their cars. I
mean, what's the point? They don't have "enough" power already to do
serious damage to themselves or others? They don't have "enough" power to
have fun? Blast freeway on ramps? If they were truly RACING and
needing extra power down the stretch or out of the corners because the other
cars have that fraction of a second on them, OK, maybe it makes sense.
BUT, if they were really RACING, head to head racing, not just track days, that
means there are classes. And rest assured, a chipped car is going to be in
the full modified class - which means a chip alone ain't going to make you
competitive - you'd need full racing suspension, stripped dead weight, etc.,
etc. </DIV>

why the 260 that came in my Tiger is sitting on an engine stand being
restored as a OEM correct display engine. Was making close to 190 HP
when pulled. As you all know, a built 347 now sits in the Tiger making
~450HP and many more smiles. A 260 will never produce much HP no
