Here is a picture of Dan’s installation, using Saturn calipers. This is not my car. Note that I drew a line showing the contact point, where the frame lip could hit the parking brake return spring.

The caliper is positioned such that if the rear compresses enough, the lip of the frame above the rear end will hit the parking brake spring part of the caliper before any stop is hit. I don’t know that I have ever hit such a bump that has caused anywhere near that kind of compression. But it still makes me nervous. I’ve been debating adding a bigger stop inside the shock itself (the are Konis, which I think do have such stops), or rotating the caliper to a different position. The problem with the different position is that the parking brake rod and cable will no longer work.

Unfortunately guessing at the condition of the road springs by comparing tire clearances, ride heights, etc, is usually inconclusive because of car to car variables like wheel and tire sizes.

To that end, can anyone share the intended clearance between the top of the stock rubber snubbers and their corresponding stop-pads on the cross-member for a (mostly) stock Tiger with known good springs? A related question is how much front wheel travel the Tiger design was intended to provide. I haven't see either of these dimensions in the Workshop Manual and either one might help inform whether a more invasive investigation is justified.
