Well, it is dark here but probably not as cold as where you are. I took a shot from the outside of the open quarter window. Indeed, looks like a rivet and spacer is missing on yours. Hope this helps. Kirk

Joe

Getting a picture without taking it off is difficult plus it is cold and dark now.

Parts List shows

5240538 Spacer

5240539 Rivet

Spacer looks like a chromed tube.

Top of rivet looks like chrome too.

Subject: [Tigers] Hardtop Vent Window

Hey,

I recently restored my hardtop and had all of the hardware rechromed. To get the best results I took everything apart as much as I could. When it came time to put things back together I had a little problem with the pins that hold the vent window latches together. I think I used a small nail or maybe some welding rod, but whatever I used has fallen out. In the photo below I have circle the parts that need to be pinned together.

So my question is, what is the "right" way to do this. Like I said, I tried something like a nail or welding rod but whenever I tried to peen over the ends, the pin would buckle in the middle. I tried using a press and tapping with a small hammer. But there must be a right way to do this.

Help,

Joe Brown
