[Tigers] Fwd: Soft Top Hinge

Thanks for all of the responses. I will try to bend the spring so that it
will stay on the hinge. A couple of other people said something about
maybe needing to loosen the bolt with the nylok nut. I had this bolt
tightened all the way up against the top frame and it sounds like I need to
loosen it a little bit so the hinge can move on the frame as it is lowered.

Thanks,
Joe Brown

Wow Ron, hopefully that's not a part you will have to use.. looks like its
been the bay
since 1965, LOL.
YES, the spring does pivot with the arm.
Joe, you may want to remove any paint and oil the joint so it all rotates
easily.

Does this picture help you?

I marked the spring with white.

I think it should pivot with the arm but not sure.

Hi,

I have a question about the soft top hinge. In the photo below I added a
red arrow pointing to a curved piece of spring metal. I'm not sure what
this is supposed to do. I thought maybe it was supposed to rest against
the pivoting arm that attaches to the soft top frame but the shape of it
does not match the arm and won't stay on it.

Where is this spring supposed to be sitting?
