Joe,
The spring needs to rotate up along side
the grey arm. There is a tab on the spring
to hold it there.
the spring pushes the arm to the opposite
side of the chrome slot from where it is now.
You may need to loosen the nyloc nut.
As the top is lowered, the spring pushes
the arm against the curved edge of the
brass (above your arrow).
