Yes, Norm will ask you for some numbers to verify. He asked for the number
on the rear end of my Tiger!!!
Congratulations on your purchase of a kitty. If you need any restoration
advice, this is the place to ask.
Not knowing if you are Tiger Knowledgeable or not, I will share my
restoration experience:
Jerry Porsche, Eric Gibeaut, Randy Willett, Curt Meinel, Rick Mccloud, Rob
Guerra and Norm Miller assisted me with parts, information, and suggestions
in the restoration of mine. Rick is with Sunbeam Specialties and Curt is
with Classic Sunbeam.
I have no idea of how many thousands of dollars Jerry saved me. I was
paying someone to restore mine. When I told Jerry the amount of money I had
paid so far, he was adamant that I get it out of there. My Tiger had zero
floorboard rust. It had some in the rocker panels.
If I recall correctly, I picked up replacement panels from Rob Guerra. My
brake booster was rebuilt by Randy Willett. I bought stainless steel brake
lines from Classic Tubing and they fit perfectly. Trust me, you definitely
want your brakes to operate flawlessly.
My Dad gave me the Tiger the weekend before he passed. I knew the
restoration process was going to be a bit pricey. Jerry asked me if I was
going to drive it a lot and my response was a emphatic yes. Well, I ended
up spending $17,000 on a paint job and now I am afraid to drive it. So kind
of keep that in mind during your restoration process. I didn't want a
Trailer Queen, but now I have one.
You can reach out to me and I will share any information, knowledge or
tidbits I know.
Good Luck!!!
Chip
