I have had a couple of British Motors license plate frames.Oceanside and Escondido. Both target marketed the Military in Northern San Diego county. Yeah they got picked off original Alpines but maybe the pay grade sold a few officers. Long Beach was a big Navy town .

Thanks Jim,Based on the dealership data (see previous attachment), Huntsville had a Rootes dealer, Imported and Domestic Car Service at 201 8th Str. NW.We have documentation of Tigers coming into the Houston area, which has to be Galveston port, so that matches your data.I hope you find the paperwork.Another piece to the puzzle.CheersB

My 1965 Tiger was purchased new from Nick Graffeo Motors in Birmingham,
AL, by a Huntsville, AL, resident on August 4, 1965. Presumably,
Huntsville did not have a Sunbeam dealer at that time.? When I purchased
the Tiger from that original owner in 1968, Chrysler had purchased a
majority stake in Rootes, and Sunbeams were serviced locally by
Huntsville Dodge.? I still own that Tiger.
I recall a document that said my Tiger's port of entry was in Texas, but
I can't find that document now (which aggravates me since I'm a pack rat
and save everything in my Tiger folder); so I can't back up that
recollection.

There were two Sunbeam dealers in Rhode Island. Picard motors in North Smithfield, and another in Newport whose name I don?t recall.
Both long gone.
