But both can leak (by pass ) internally and no fluid will show up.  Ask me how I know that on the Tiger and on a Ford truck.

The paint does not appreciate brake/clutch fluid much. If the slave leaks it’s dripping on the ground. Been there, got the tee shirt.

Perfect timing, of course.  I've driven it every couple weeks all summer, no problems.  But I was getting it ready to go to a show tomorrow, the first one of the year.  I pushed it out of the garage, checked all the fluids, the tire pressures, washed the windshield... And then I went to start it.  The clutch pedal went straight to the floor, little resistance.  That's new.   I pumped it a few times and it started to feel more like normal. No leaks on the ground, no fluid missing when I rechecked the reservoir.  I have the stock master and slave with silicon fluid.  I'm thinking its master rebuild time.   Any other thoughts out there? So much for mini British car day at Larz Anderson.  No way I'm committing to a 45 minute drive into Brookline with a questionable clutch.  And there's no way to turn up a master rebuild kit this afternoon. Stu
