[Tigers] Question

Centerforce diaphragm-type is a no brainer, unless pushing serious HP. I can't imagine any reason to run an old long-style clutch in a Tiger, by the time you get decent clamping power, you're getting a serious left leg workout every time you use it :).Mike

I just today started my 1964 HiPo 289 Fairlane with the Centerforce. It was quite smooth both in first and in reverse.I like that setup.  Don Antilla Southbury, CT203-264-8301 Home203-592-8427 Cell    From: Tigers <tigers-bounces at autox.team.net> on behalf of Dave Munroe via Tigers <tigers at autox.team.net>

Subject: Re: [Tigers] Question  Guys;  I have had two Centerforce clutch packs on my non-stock 289 block: one after I bought it and did a mild workover of the engine, and one much later after having the totally worn out engine completely rebuilt to a much higher state of tune. At the time (15 years ago for stage one build it was just the new clutch, a new alloy rad, carb etc). 10 years later the engine was bored and stroked, new rotating assembly, pistons, intake manifold, 4 barrel 600cfm carb, roller hydraulic cam, roller tipped rockers, etc etc. These excellent clutches at the time were sized according to the engine torque. My first Centerforce clutch was good for 300 ft lbs; the second was good for 400 ft lb. ( my engine was now showing 349ft lbs at the crank.)Both clutches were easy on the leg - very easy  to shove in the pedal. They're smooth on the release, and could take a high rpm drag race start very smoothly. After some 30k miles, still performing as new.  I highly recommend them.  Dave      On Mon, Oct 19, 2020, 6:07 PM Mark Rense via Tigers, <tigers at autox.team.net> wrote:
I run Centerforce clutches in my cars, a Centerforce I in the 289 car and a Centerforce II in the stroker 331 car. Both are lighter pedal pressure than a stock clutch and are pretty much indestructible.   https://www.centerforce.com/products?car=54-1566-1965&clev=0&hs=1      Bugz  On Mon, Oct 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM Dave Barakat via Tigers <tigers at autox.team.net> wrote:
Hi Ron….hope all is well.   Need to source a clutch kit for my MK1-A. Is the best place SS or do you have a better source?  Or can I order directly from Ford which is right next to us.  Does anyone have the correct Ford part numbers?_______________________________________________
