I just saw the picture of the Posidrive screws on the B post.
I recently took apart an original paint series SV Alpine, and pretty soon after I get a nice positive drive screwdriver I will take another original paint car apart to look for your paper gasket. I do not see that same style of washer on either car. I've certainly seen that washer on an original hardtop. not sure why the factory would use that or anybody else for that matter cuz it makes a really wonderful place for water and salt and road debris to get trapped. I'm sure it's a matter of they did different things at different times if it was the first time your car was apart.

My Tiger's engine runs hot a low speeds and I want to increase the airflow.? I'd like to know if anyone has successfully addressed this issue with a Derale fan, or another type of fan, or an electric fan.
I'm in the process of installing a Derale 17015 fan, but I have had to depitch the blades to clear the upper rad hose, which reduces the airflow.? In addition, I will have to create a custom spacer, so it is getting to the point where I am not sure it is worth the bother.
I am now leaning towards using the original fan and an electric fan, but want to survey the group first.
Thanks for your response.

Hi,

The parts manual seems to indicate that there is a seal that goes under the
chrome B-post cap.  I can't find a seal like this in the Sunbeam
Specialties catalog.  Can someone verify that there is supposed to be a
seal under the cap?

Thanks,
Joe Brown

Joe,
There IS a seal there.? I know because I have been noticing mine is
slipping out.
I forget the details, I installed it in 1979 after my paint job.? I
wouldn't have put anything
there if there wasn't something there originally.

I think I made a new one from gasket paper, but not sure.? I know I made
several seals,
back then you couldn't just get things from Sunbeam Specialties.

I am not sure what it really seals, maybe just to protect the paint.?
The tops fit so loosely
around there that the rain will get in through much larger gaps anyway.
Gary
