I have run synthetic in my toploader for years with out any problems. If it's only third and forth you might want to double check the linkage and verify the clutch hydraulics are in order. Maybe some posi-traction friction modifier would help the syncro's.

Members--I inadvertently put synthetic fluid in my? toploader (66 tiger) and now it won't go into third or fourth easily as before.? I have renewed with the correct fluid for the third time now with? several hundred miles? to no? avail.? Any other flushes recommended or do I have the tranny rebuilt?? Another question is can the tranny be taken out without? the engine being removed??? I? believe the synchros being brass have absorbed the slick stuff to disallow them stopping very fast. Hoping for some wise advise as you all have come thru for me in the past very nicely.? Thanking in advance.???? rtscolgan at yahoo.com
